About the FEADAD icon
FEADAD! is an acronym for First Edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons! The dragon skull represents the "ancient" knowledge that the game is comprised of, and the bones the dragon skull is biting are representative of the other "lesser" games that followed. The roman numerals at the bottom of the graphic record the first year in which the 1st Edition Players Handbook was published.
